About

On Awkward Duckling

Hello! My name is Tessa and I am the owner and writer of Awkward Duckling: a blog on sustainable and minimal living. My goal is to help you and many others to live a more sustainable, minimal and healthy lifestyle through creative reusing tips, diy recipes, decluttering tips, simple checklists and many other articles.

About me

I am 35 years old and I live in The Netherlands with my husband and 2 kids who are 4 and 1 years old. Awkward Duckling is my personal website where I write about everything that I am passionate about when it comes to a sustainable, minimalist and healthy lifestyle. I started my blog a few years back when I was just discovering all this information about sustainable living. I was looking for a way to make all this new information comprehendible and to share my search for a better lifestyle. So naturally, I started blogging. I started Awkward Duckling in Dutch in 2014 to share my experiences with like-minded spirits and basically everyone who was interested in what I had to say. I shared my ups and downs and learned a lot along the way. Gradually I became more interested in making the lessons that I learned, through trial and error, more accessible. I started sharing articles with simple tips and tricks to make decluttering, minimalizing, reusing, recycling and sustainability comprehensible and more fun.

What can you find here

In 2018 I started the English version of Awkward Duckling to share my tips and tricks with the world. On this page you will find a lot of inspiring tips, tricks and lists on how to reuse materials, declutter and minimalize and green up your home with little to no effort. I hope people can benefit from our experience and will be inspired by my tips and tricks on sustainable and minimal living.
